I´m sorry I forgot to write my feedback! I´m 24 year old girl from Argentina, and stayed at the loft in early October with my 15 year old sister. The place was perfect for us! The location is the best!! (we were very close to the departure day when we booked the loft, and by that moment the best we were getting for that money was a hostel qualified as "bedbugs inn" on the TripAdvisor, so roomorama and this place saved our trip!)- We left the loft every morning around 9 am and wouldn´t be back before 7 or 8 pm to have something to eat and go away again untill around 11 pm so we weren´t very much aware of the movement in the house. If you need a place to stop by and sleep this is it, with a perfect location, clean, safe, and cool. You can use the kitchen which will make you save a lot of money. Lou is very NYC savvy and helpful without being interfering.,. you have 100% independence during your stay. The shared bathroom is not a problem at all, it was not occupied even once along the 10 days we stayed, so it is almost like having a private one. The views of the loft are amazing, and you get to see Manhattan and the bridges through the huge windows from a 12th floor. The cat is very quiet and won´t bother. We won´t forget our first breakfast at the Magnolia Bakery and the tour you gave us around the neighborhoods... thanks Lou and Jacob!!! Lou (and Jake) are great hosts that will recommend you places to go (Lombardi´s Pizza, Baked By Melissa, Economy Candy) Very close to the loft is the New Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame Annex which are very good, apart from all the best stores for shopping (H&M Zara Forever 21, Victoria´s Secret, Top Shop, are all around the cornet on Broadway) Note that the security deposit and any cash transaction you do personally is between you and the host, and not through roomorama. We thought that Roomorama would give us back the cash deposit we payed upon arrival but they didn´t and finaly Lou mailed us a check in return. I totally recommend the loft if you are willing to live like a local, enjoy the urban life and also save the money of a fancy hotel and use it during your stay. I hope we can be back soon!!

My girlfriend and I stayed with Lou during the first week of December and overall we had a pleasant stay. Lou's place is ideal for a couple exploring NY and need little more than a place in a central area to sleep in On the plus: (1) Lou is very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable; (2) the location is EXCELLENT, really close to 3 subway stops and is in the perfect location to explore NY and get the NY feel as the area is very busy and vibrant; and (3) it's a very large loft and has some views of Manhattan On the negative, however: (1) the place is what it is: it is a true NY loft, and as such it can be noisy from the plumbing, floors, and traffic; cold (could definitely use a thicker comforter during winter months); and dark; and (2) not much privacy in the guest bedroom as the walls do not reach all the way to the ceiling, while the door has windows but no curtains

Overview: Soho Loft should appeal to those who like to stay out late and are using the loft as a base to sleep, shower and explore NYC, preferably for the weekend. It is a little inconvenient on weekdays because of the host’s office/work environment which adds to a general lack of privacy. Potential renters should determine what they want and ask the host to be specific about what activities will be happening during their stay; e.g. business meetings/dinner parties/building repair, etc. Positives: • NYC Loft experience – nice aesthetics, interesting artwork • Good location – right on subway • Partial views of NYC skyline from kitchen & host’s living area • Host remains aloof to your comings & goings, but will offer helpful advice on the neighborhood/NYC • Cat Negatives: • NYC Loft experience – minimal lounging space; sound carries; little insulation – room was both cold (heat off) and hot (heat on) • Noisy – street & vehicle traffic/night club (weekends extremely noisy) • Home/Office working space (Mon-Fri) e.g. staff, business meetings • Lack of privacy • Poor sleeping setup – too much street light at night (room is windowless, but open to office area/corridor – walls do not reach to ceiling) and ironically, minimal light during day • Host does his own thing and maintains his lifestyle while renting out the room – i.e. held two dinner parties without informing us – not a big issue, just an inconvenience (NB: you are renting a room in a loft) • Cat – I fed the cat a couple of times to appease his hunger pangs – morning & late night Neutrals: • Kitchen/Bathroom

I should lie and tell you Lou's loft is horrible so we can book it again hassle-free the next time we're in NYC, but everything was perfect! Fantastic location, beautiful/comfortable living space and Lou is a great host. If you're a single traveller or couple, there probably isn't a better deal for NYC accomodation. Thanks Lou, we'd be glad to stay again if you'll have us.

Fantastic stay at Mr Sagar's place! Great location at Soho, subway is nearby, plenty of nice shopping locations in the area. Place is tastefully done up, clean and safe. Great view of the city. Elevator opens into penthouse, making transport of luggage easy. Mr Sagar very kindly brought us on 2 tours - one around the neighbourhood to get us familiarised with the area, and drove us around lower Manhatten, for the famous sights. We appreciated the tours very much. Overall i highly recommend staying at this apartment. If i'm ever in NY again, i know where i'm staying!

I had the good fortune of booking my stay at LSagar's Soho Loft during the Tribeca Film Festival. I rented the room for 10 days. It was a four star experience. First star: Its location. Couldn't ask for better: this penthouse loft is strategically located in the heart of Soho, 12 floors above the fray, steps away from all the shops, restaurants, bars, subway, and more. Second star: for the comfort of the room: top class linens, extremely comfortable bed, TV and dvd player in the room, lots of closet space, very clean and cosy. Third star: the NY working loft experience at its best. Because of the available workspace and wireless access I was able to conduct business as if I were in the comfort of my own office. Fourth Star: The host. Mr Sagar was extremely helpful, cool, connected and kind. Each one of his suggestions proved to be an excellent recommandation. From now on, whenever I need to book a place in NYC, this is where I'll stay.

If you want to be in the heart of New York's SOHO atmosphere and eclectic combination of high fashion and Gotham inspired night and day life, then Lou Sagar's early industrial retro loft is what TV designer shows are all about, right down to the polished turn of the century, real hardwood floor squeaks. No click flooring imitation here. Authentic. Right down to the personal elevator to the loft floor and your room. Great business level access in a functioning loft business and combo home. Lou is NY born, savvy and a great source of local color for where to eat, greet, and go for sights and sounds of New York, which never sleeps as the song says. But you will, and for a fraction of what the main hostelries uptown will charge, and then there is the neighborhood, which is walkable and enjoyable. Check out the historic building and antique book store with designer coffee next door and did I mention the shopping. Practically, the subway entrance is across Crosby street and serendiptiously you pick your way around a taxi gas up and driver stand to get to the subway entrance. Your choice of above or below ground travel convenience. Lou's decor is early comfortable and like the neighbourhood, eclectic and so very, very New York authentic. There are fancier places, but for the savvy business traveler on a budget and wanting a real NY experience, LSagar has the right goods at the right price. Enjoy the nightlights view from the 12 floor security above the fray, and bring your laptop. Wireless included. Did I mention the great restaurants and streetscapes. Don't miss the NoHo Resaurant across the intersection for a great meal. Lou will send you right every time. I will be back.

I stayed at Lou's place from Dec 23 2009 till the 4th of Jan 2010 with my girlfriend. All i can say is that we both had an amazing time at the loft and in NYC. Lou is welcoming and accomodating when you arrive and during your stay e.g. Wi Fi and Kitchen Facilities. If you want to find out where is the best place to get excellent quality, value for money food he is the man. My girlfriend and I enjoyed an Italian restaurant recommendation, which i can say i havent had better Italian food. Lou is easily to approach for local knowledge, so dont hesitate to pick his brain about the City. Especially since the location of the Loft within Soho, is a prime location for any keen shopaholic. There are many high quality stores surrounding the loft and even if you want to find that one of a kind gift. The room within the loft was a excellent size for 2 people and even had enough hanger space for all my girlfriends clothes. Anyone that stays here will have an amazing time and easily fall in love with the Loft with its elevator entrance. I would recommend this Loft to anyone wanting a true New York stay and engaging in the wide variety of local activities/ amenities. Our next stay in New York will definately be with Lou, if its available as after the reviews this place gets im sure many people will be wanting to book. Hope the New Year is treating you well Lou!
